Welcome to Our Garden!

From a Breck's Mailing
Our gardening journal was previously confined to a single page embedded in another blog, but I finally decided that this hobby deserved its very own blog! So welcome to our garden!

First of all, let me point you to previous posts where you will find chit chat from prior years.  This year, the plan is to provide a glimpse of our flower beds as they grow and mature from month to month. Gardening in Michigan's Lower Peninsula is a very seasonal affair spanning, at most, 7 months out of the year. Here, in the mid-West, Spring is a very exciting time of year for us because of the loooong and cold winters.

When this hobby first surfaced, Hubby and I would shop for annuals to fill our flowerbeds.  Over the years we got wise and began spending the money on perennials that would provide color throughout the year and would keep on giving with renewed strength from one year to the next! That goal has finally been accomplished because annuals are now restricted to container gardening on the front and back porches.

Without further ado, let me introduce you to our garden in

May
June
July - coming soon

Cheers, everyone, and enjoy the tour of our garden!
